I have been guiding for over 15 years, using custom made rods to get the maximum performance. I have combined several of the designs I’ve used into our new rod. This rod starts with a seven foot, one-piece, thin wall, E-Glass blank. It is cut into two pieces and a high quality spigot ferrule and post is added. This ferrule is used in high-end fly rods because of its strength and flexibility. What makes this rod unique from most other rods is the spiral wrapped guides. The middle three guides rotate the line from the top of the blank underneath, so that the tip of the rod is down like a spinning rod. Simply stating: When the reel is facing up, the tip is facing down. This allows the action of a spinning rod at the tip but the benefit of a casting reel. When the rod is loaded, this eliminates line rub on the blank that is common in casting rods. Custom rod makers have been making these for years. I feel this design is best for trolling and down rigger applications.

If you find yourself in the middle of the lake over a school of fish with no GPS to mark your spot. Here is a simple inexpensive solution, throw out our weighted marker. In no wind or light wind conditions it floats over the school so you can make tight turns and continue to work your fish.

You will find that if you have a GPS you will use this marker instead, because it is easier.
